In my experience, it extracts back rather slowly.

The manufacturer recommends we hold the plug and not allow the power cord to “whip” back into place when engaging the cord pedal release.

On the second press, the cord has returned without any problems but I worry this might not always be the case.

I’ve had a few times where the cord has not been pulled back on the first press.

This cord rewind pedal is located towards the bottom of the unit opposite the side of where the power cord is.Pressing down on the gray foot pedal draws the entire power cord back into a separate cord holding area. Some might find this odd but my favorite features this model has is the cord rewind feature.

The Owners Manual has easy to follow instructions with diagrams to guide you through the process. The handle piece gets set onto the base and is held together by one screw, the dirt cup snaps onto the base and it’s ready to get to work. The only tool needed is a Phillips head screwdriver. When it arrived it needed some assembly but it was very easy to do. This technology is supposed to draw debris in instead of forcing it away by consistent high powered suction action to remove dirt and debris from surfaces, it didn’t use bags and it came with a great price tag. I had been happy with the Hoover brand and this model came with the patented Windtunnel technology and dual cyclonic air system. Last fall I decided to get rid of both uprights and go bagless.
